The Referral Model: Send Us Your Stuck Brazilian Lead, No Contract Required

The referral model works like this: you send us the Brazilian buyer who requested a quotation and then went quiet, we diagnose in Portuguese what is actually blocking the deal, and if it can be unblocked we run the Brazilian side while the purchase order stays between you and your customer, at no cost or commitment to you, and with no contract required to get started.
- You lose nothing by sending a stalled lead: there is no fee, no contract, and no commission owed by you if the deal closes.
- We are paid by the Brazilian importer, not by you, which is what allows this to be a genuinely free diagnostic rather than a disguised sales pitch.
- The order stays yours. We are not a trading company and never buy or resell your goods.
How the referral works, step by step
The process is intentionally short. You identify the buyer, the company, the contact, the product, and where the conversation stopped, and send it to us through the buyer unlock process. We make one introduction, a single message connecting us with your buyer, without you handing over the relationship. We then diagnose the situation directly with the buyer, in Portuguese, about their tax situation, landed cost, and licence status, because people say things to a Brazilian consultancy they would not put in writing to a foreign supplier. If the deal is viable, we run the Brazilian side and the purchase order closes between you and your customer. If it is not viable, you stop spending sales effort on a buyer who was never going to close, and you find that out in weeks rather than quarters.

Stalled deals
Send us the buyer who never came back.
They liked the product, asked for a quotation, then went quiet. It is almost never the price: it is whether they can legally and predictably receive the goods.
No cost, no commitment.
Why there is no contract required
We do not ask a European supplier to sign anything to send us a stalled lead, because the diagnosis itself is not the part that generates revenue for us. Requiring a contract before we even look at the situation would add friction to exactly the kind of quick, low-stakes referral this model depends on, and it would also be a strange thing to ask of a company that has not yet seen any value from working with us.
Who actually pays us
We are engaged and paid by the Brazilian importer, not by the foreign supplier. That is the structural reason this can be a genuinely free introduction rather than a lead-gen exercise dressed up as generosity. If the deal closes, you are paid by your customer exactly as you would have been without our involvement; our fee comes from the Brazilian side of the transaction. Guelcos runs the Brazilian side under our full import management service, which is what lets us take this on without touching your commercial relationship.
“Introducing a stalled buyer costs you no fee and no commission on the sale. If the deal closes, you are paid exactly as you would have been.”
Guelcos, on how the referral model is structured
The three things we commit to in writing
- We are not a trading company. We never buy or resell your goods. The order stays yours.
- We do not introduce your customer to a competing supplier.
- We are paid by the Brazilian importer, not by you.
What kind of leads should you send us?
The clearest candidates are Brazilian buyers who showed genuine, specific interest, requested a detailed quotation, and then the conversation slowed or stopped without a clear reason. That pattern, interest followed by unexplained silence, is the single strongest signal that a fixable blocker rather than a change of heart is behind the stall. It applies whether the contact went cold last month or two years ago; time on its own does not disqualify a lead, since a company’s licensing status, tax situation, or internal buying process can change in ways that make a previously dead deal viable again.
It is also worth sending contacts you are genuinely unsure about, including ones where you suspect the buyer simply was not serious. Part of what the diagnosis provides is a clear answer either way, and a confirmed “this was never going to close” is useful information, since it lets your sales team redirect effort toward contacts more likely to convert. We would rather tell you honestly that a lead is not viable than have you keep spending attention on it based on hope alone.
What we do not need before you send a lead is a fully qualified deal with commercial terms already agreed. Some of the most useful referrals we receive are early, still-forming conversations where the exporter simply senses something is off but cannot identify what. Diagnosing that earlier, before both sides have invested months in a negotiation, is usually where we add the most value.
Guelcos has run this referral model with European exporters across multiple sectors, diagnosing stalled Brazilian leads at no cost and no contract, exactly as described above.
Message us on WhatsAppFrequently Asked Questions
Do we need to sign anything before sending a stalled Brazilian lead?
No. There is no contract required to start. You send the information, we make the introduction and diagnose the blocker.
What does this cost us as the European supplier?
Nothing. We are paid by the Brazilian importer, not by you, so referring a stalled buyer carries no fee or commission on your side.
Will you take our customer to a different, competing supplier?
No, and it is a commitment we put in writing before any engagement. Introducing your customer to a competitor would also destroy the referral relationship that brings us this work in the first place.
How many stalled buyers can we send?
There is no limit. Some suppliers send one specific contact; others review their Brazilian pipeline and send everything that went quiet over the past year or two, which often surfaces deals that had already been written off.
What happens if the buyer turns out not to be a viable deal?
You get a clear answer in weeks instead of quarters, and you stop spending sales effort on a contact that was never going to convert. That is useful information even when the outcome is not a sale.
