Private label and OEM
Your brand, made in China, landed in Brazil.
Private label is not a purchase, it is a product development project with a factory 12,000 kilometres away. We run it end to end: supplier selection, specification, sampling, packaging, regulatory compliance and delivery, with our own people in China and in Brazil.
No cost, no commitment. A 20-minute call about the product and the volume.
What is involved
Six stages, and sampling is where projects die.

- Brief and specificationTurning a commercial idea into a technical document a Chinese factory can quote against. Most private label projects fail here, by being specified in adjectives.
- Supplier selectionManufacturers capable of the category at your volume, verified through registries and on-site visits.
- SamplingIterations until the sample matches the specification. The stage that determines whether mass production will be acceptable.
- Packaging and brandingArtwork, materials and the Brazilian labelling requirements, which are mandatory and product-specific.
- Regulatory complianceINMETRO, ANATEL or ANVISA as applicable, started during development rather than after the first container ships.
- Production and deliveryIn-process and pre-shipment inspection, then the full import operation into Brazil.
Why margin is not the only reason
Why do retailers build their own brand?
The obvious answer is margin, and it is real: removing the brand owner's markup changes the economics of a category. But the durable reason is control. An own-brand product cannot be price-shopped against the same item on a competitor's shelf, cannot be discontinued by a supplier's global decision, and can be specified for what Brazilian customers actually buy rather than for an average of every market.\n\nThe trade-off is that everything the brand owner used to handle, specification, quality, compliance and recall risk, becomes yours. That is the part we run.
What is the minimum volume for private label?
It depends entirely on the category. Some products are viable at a few hundred units, others need thousands before tooling makes sense. Volume is one of the first things we check, because a project that is not viable at your volume should be stopped before sampling begins.
Who owns the tooling and the design?
You should, and it should be written down before the first sample. This is one of the most common and most expensive omissions in private label projects: tooling paid for by the buyer but held, and sometimes reused, by the factory.
How long does a private label project take?
Typically several months from brief to first container, with sampling and, when applicable, certification as the long poles. Certification runs in parallel with development, which is the main reason to map it at the start.
Can you work with our existing design?
Yes. A finished design shortens the project considerably. What still needs work is usually the technical specification, the packaging for Brazilian labelling rules, and the compliance path.
